How to Diminish Them

When it comes to visible ageing, not all areas of the face age at the same pace. Some zones, the ones with thinner skin, constant movement or more environmental exposure, are the first to reveal fatigue. With the right strategy, you can slow this early ageing cascade. In today’s edition, we’re breaking down why certain zones age more rapidly, what’s biologically happening beneath the surface and the targeted ingredients that directly correct and defend these vulnerable areas.

1. The Eye Contour

WHY: This is the most delicate skin on the entire face, ultra-thin, low in sebum, and in constant motion with every blink and expression. Because it has so little natural cushioning or lipid protection, it shows dehydration lines, dark shadows, puffiness and early collagen loss sooner than anywhere else.

PREVENT & CORRECT: Replenish + Strengthen

The eye area benefits most from ingredients that protect collagen, reduce inflammation and reinforce the fragile skin barrier.
Actives:
• Peptides (signal + firming peptides to support collagen integrity)
• Caffeine (decongests and reduces puffiness)
• Ceramides & omega lipids (restore the barrier and prevent water loss)

2. The Lip Contour

WHY: Like the eye area, the skin around the lips is thin and low in oil, but it’s also in near-constant motion from speaking, smiling and daily expression. Moisture evaporates quickly here, which is why fine vertical lines, texture changes and subtle volume loss tend to appear early.

PREVENT & CORRECT: Repair + Cushion

Because this zone loses hydration so quickly, cushioning and lipid replenishment are essential.
Actives:
• Hyaluronic acid (plumps and hydrates within the surface layers)
• Peptides (to help soften vertical lines)
• Butters & oils like shea, rosehip or meadowfoam (restore suppleness)

3. The Neck & Decollete

WHY: This region has fewer structural support fibers than the face, yet it receives just as much, if not more, UV exposure, friction from clothing, and tension from posture (especially tech-neck). Over time, this leads to creping, loosening and deeper etched lines that are harder to correct once they set in.

PREVENT & CORRECT: Lift + Reinforce

The goal is to support elasticity while protecting thin, UV-sensitive skin.
Actives:
• Retinoids (encourage collagen renewal and fibre density)
• Antioxidants (shield against UV and pollution stress)
• Hyaluronic Acid (hydrates, plumps & strengthens all other actives)

4. Hands

WHY: The hands face everything, sun, temperature changes, washing, and daily wear, yet they have very little natural lipid protection. As a result, they lose thickness and moisture more quickly, which accelerates texture changes, dryness and uneven pigmentation.

PREVENT & CORRECT: Rebuild + Protect

Hands need both deep nourishment and surface defense, since they are constantly exposed.
Actives:
• Occlusive lipids (shea butter, squalane, or jojoba to rebuild barrier strength)
• Antioxidants (prevent pigment changes from UV exposure)
• Retinol (brighten and even tone)
